Pho Saigon and Cafe by willowsmom

I like bright, cozy places where the food is good, the service is pleasant, the prices are right, and I can find something I can't find just anywhere. Pho and Cafe Saigon fits this description, and serves more than just very satisfying "pho"--which I suspect is the Vietnamese rendering of "feu," which is short for "pot au feu" or "soup" in French. Their rice stick, fried rice and salad dishes are wonderful and they make some of the best lemonade in town. I like to take friends and relatives there but I usually go by myself, with a good book to read, and often run into a friend or two. This is a fine restaurant and I hope it lasts a long time. It's run by a family of Vietnamese immigrants, and as the granddaughter of immigrants I like to help such people because I know how hard it is to build a life in a new country, especially one whose language and alphabet are different from those you know.
