With 20 beers on draft (2 of them hand pumped) and just one bottled beer, Local 44 has an extensive and exciting draught beer list that focuses on craft beer from around the world, with a serious nod to favorite local breweries. In addition to satisfying your thirst, you will not go hungry at Local 44.
They feature a pub-grub menu with delicious choices like Frito pie (and a veggie version too), mahi-mahi tacos with housemade corn tortillas, burgers with any fixin’ you can possibly think of, wings, corn dogs and for those of you watching your calories, they offer several healthy salads to choose from.
Owner Brendan Hartranft says he wants to be the bar that is known to be the “easiest to get kicked out of” and he is taking it seriously. Misbehaving? He will ask you to leave. Hit the ATM before you go because a $5 charge will be applied to all bills split onto more than 2 credit cards.
Local 44 is serving the University City community from 11:30am-2am everyday and the kitchen remains open until midnight daily.

I was not too impressed. Beer is expensive, but tasty. Atmosphere is dark and dull. It is super close to home though, so once in a while I will splurge on a delicious beer.
