I've taken a lot of great classes at the Art League. This session I'm doing the whole mind/body/spirit thing with a T'ai Chi - Pilates - Yoga combo!

Last weekend I attended the Etc.... Performance series at this
location. It was fantastic. High class dance performances.
Post-modern, modern, breakin' all sorts.... MC'd by a cutie
named Charles. Here's the deal. Anyone can do anything for 20
minutes. This months was all dance but it varies depending on
who applies. It is held every 2 months. Next is May. Sign up

This weekend (Jan 5th and 6th) there is an 'Etc...' performance at 8pm both nights. This is the second of this new series. The first was TOTALLY AWESOME. An eclectic mix of music and dance. Each artist has 10 minutes to Wow the audience. And they do that!! Check it out!

Every year they have a Holiday craft show. Fantastic place to buy ceramics, jewelry and other wonderful gift items. It is really worth checking out! This year it is open from Friday 7th to Tuesday 18th December.  University City Arts League by EllaRBS

This place has a small but classy gallery. Very cool exhibit of
photos right now. All with water as the theme. Stop by and take

I was shocked to see naked women in the gallery show.
Not what I expect of the UCAL I remember when I was a student.

I went to an Open House there on Saturday. really cool stuff
going on advertizing all their arts and dance classes etc. I've
never seen a semi-naked lady being painted in university city
before.......and such a cool dance improv.

So there is a lot going on at The Arts League, dance, music, art,
pottery etc etc.
And now they tell me they are retiring their old logo. And need
inspiration for a replacement....in other words A COMPETITION!

On the way out of my fitness class tonight I looked in on the
exhibit in the gallery. Very cool creations made of tiny wooden
pieces of demolished houses. Awesome. It's there for a couple
more weeks. Worth checking out even if you are not working

I did a kickboxing class there once. Man, I could hardly walk for
a week. It was HAAARD.

I literally stumbled upon this place and i am glad that I did. I checked out their catalog and website & man, they have so much stuff goin on in there! I went back there to check out a dance performance by a fabulous company, (Underground Dance Works), & afterward I got to meet the dancers and check this out, the Choreographer, (Charles Tyson Jr), teaches dance classes there at the Arts League! I took his class, (awesome!), and my legs are still sore but I'm ready for the club!! University City Arts League by Blue-belle

I shook my shimmy in their Bellydancing classes, stomped out my frustrations, (with mad spanish flava), in Flamenco class, stretched like a feline in Yoga & did the Tango with a stranger at their Friday night Milongas. And that was all in this past week!

They have this cool gallery in the back of the building that showcases work from local emerging artists. I bought this amazing ceramic plate here. Check in out. The exhibits change every 4 weeks or so.

You could be anyone, looking anyhow, wanting to do anything
artistic and you will feel at home in this unique victorian twin
filled with amazing wonderful people, paintings and pots!!
