Hidden gem. My favorite: #150. I don't remember the name or whether it's Japanese or Korean. Here's what it is:
a small pile of cubes of mixed sashimi (raw fish)
on top of a bed of finely cut dark lettuce
on top of a bed or warm steamed rice
on top are some shreds of dried seaweed, toasted sesame, other bits of fish or maguro (eggs)... you get chili sauce and the side dishes.
IT IS AWESOME. Not cheap, but i can't imagine a healthier lunch. Sitar India by Gmizzller Mon, Feb 25th 12:15 pm
Great Buffet for a great price. Relaxed and easy going atmosphere, conducive to conversation and allows you to enjoy the delicious food. In quantities far too large for normal consumption.

great atmosphere. a nice selection of treats to go with your
coffee...and if you're really hungry they have burritos and panini-
style sandwiches!! ....oh yeah...and they are a wireless cafe!!!
Gotta get there! Cafe Pier One by janicepixie Thu, Jan 24th 5:21 pm
This place is awesome! I just went there for the first time this weekend and the hot chocolate and breakfast bowl is to die for! I'm so glad I moved out of Center City to University City!!! Abbraccio by janicepixie Thu, Jan 24th 5:18 pm
I love Abbraccio! It's right in my hood and they just did a great renovation. I love the fireplace and the bar area is sweet! First place that I went to when I moved to the area and felt very welcomed!
Pod by missuniversitycity Mon, Jan 7th 12:16 am
Try the drink called the "yellow" it's the best. The food is okay but
the atmosphere is awesome. Sláinte Pub & Grill by Pamella Thu, Dec 13th 4:25 pm
Finally, a good watering hole around 30th street! Great selection of beers and $2 pints late nite! Fun atmosphere with great bartenders and servers. Definately worth it to check it out. Abbraccio by whamlin Wed, Nov 28th 6:41 pm
Great Sunday Brunch! A well lighted, comfortable and imaginative atmosphere.I highly reccommend it Mad 4 Mex by Hope634 Tue, Nov 27th 12:21 pm
That's a GREAT tip cornflakegerl! It's very crowded and the kids can make it not fun for sure. Cereality by Sarah14 Mon, Nov 19th 2:38 pm
There were so many choices of cereal that I couldn't decide! I ended up going with their amazing oatmeal, made just for me. Bucks County Coffee by njm828 Wed, Oct 24th 11:10 pm
Best Caramel Apple Cider, hands down. If you can get a table, it's a pretty good environment for doing work, but not hardcore studying-- def. too loud. Pretty much, I live in there though. Abyssinia Restaurant & Bar by goochiegrl Tue, Oct 23rd 5:19 pm
I frequesnt this place. Great food at a very reasonable price. The service can be slow, but well worth it. You will be pleasantly surprised! World Cafe Live by AnninPA Mon, Oct 22nd 2:21 pm
I went back to World Cafe last night and they had gotten their act together much more than the last time I was there. Service was fine, friendly and reasonably rapid. Much, MUCH better than the last time I was there. Rx by abigaic Mon, Oct 15th 11:11 pm
Went there for dinner and enjoyed it, but was not completely blown away. I've meaning to go for brunch because I've heard mad raves about that. World Cafe Live by AnninPA Mon, Oct 15th 3:53 pm
Great room. Great music. Marginal food, at best. Last time I was there (and I go a fair amount) the service was terrible-- it took a solid hour to serve our drinks. It's worth it because the music is so good and it's generally a wonderful place to listen. Abbraccio by AnninPA Mon, Oct 15th 3:49 pm
I must be really lucky, despite the negative word of mouth about Abbraccio, I have had fine food and great service every time. Love the fireplace in the winter and the airy, Tuscan feeling of the dining room in the summer. Nara japanese by AnninPA Mon, Oct 15th 3:44 pm
This place has been here since the dawn of time. Their lunch boxes (which is what they call bento boxes for some reason) are very fresh and very reasonably priced. Much broader selection than Mizu. It's nice to have a choice within a few blocks. Clark Park Farmers' Market by AnninPA Mon, Oct 15th 3:42 pm
Well worth the trip--the Asian pears at North Star Orchard are beyond fabulous, and both North Star and Fahnstock have great apples. Big Sky has great bread and granola, though it's a bit pricey. The veggies are so fresh they keep longer than you expect because you really are buying them fresh picked-- which makes you wonder how long the stuff in the supermarket has been sitting around. Great farmer's market-- the real deal. Pod by AnninPA Mon, Oct 15th 3:39 pm
Everyone says the same thing about Pod-- "the sushi bar on the Starship Enterprise." Not that there's anything wrong with that. The food is fine, though I don't find it all that adventurous, and the atmosphere is fun. Allegro Pizza by elricr Mon, Oct 15th 12:44 pm
The stuft pizza is outstanding! In two varieties, veggie and meat lovers. Fresh Grocer by elricr Mon, Oct 15th 12:43 pm
The shrimp pizza sounds weird, but it's great! quite reasonably priced, too. If you like fresh fruit they make trays of sliced cantelope and watermelon and even pineapple. Each tray is only $1.99! Now, that's good eatin'. MexiCali by elricr Mon, Oct 15th 12:40 pm
The burritos are stuffed and quite good. Dock Street Brewery and Restaurant by elricr Mon, Oct 15th 12:37 pm
I had lunch at Dock street a couple Friday's ago. The atmosphere was relaxed, quiet music playing in the background. The wide variety of refreshments available was particularly impressive. I had a chicken sandwich, not very adventurous but tasty. I've also had the pizza which is delicious.
Now that I've tried the traditional fare, I'd like to check out the black cherry beer or the Gail Ale.
A very cool place for adventures in beer and cuisine! Makkah Market by ckingsle Mon, Oct 15th 12:05 pm
Try the "Chicken Tawook" for lunch. Can't beat $4 takeout, and the food is excellent. Kabobeesh by yasminr Thu, Sep 20th 8:13 pm
love the kabob sandwiches (esp chicken, although lamb is also fab). sometimes get some serious stomach inconveniences afterwards but i would say the risk is only ~ 1 out of every 3-4 visits so it's still worth going to this tasty spot. plus, it's in an old mobile diner which ups my feelings about it by a few points. Bucks County Coffee by yasminr Thu, Sep 20th 8:10 pm
awful coffee, awful color scheme, awfully amazing soundtrack, great veggie chili. not a bad spot for studying / people watching but definitely at the bottom of my UC cafe list. Bubble House by yasminr Thu, Sep 20th 8:07 pm
obsessed with the thai bubble tea and sunday afternoon dance parties. a GREAT spot, i go embarrassingly frequently.
